This is initially written with the sole purpose of being an outlet for me to write anything I feel. I'm not the type to committ my thoughts to paper and ink, with the family I have it really isn't advisable to write a diary, chances are my dad will find it and use it to ground me for life. The blog title "The Trouble With Young People Today" comes from the title of a play I was once in, (I've been part of a Youth Theatre Company for ten years now) but it's significant. Younger people get a lot of bad press, simply because a small minority feel the need to carry knives, terrify old ladies and hang around on street corners. But for the majority of us, we are typical teenagers - we will drink when we feel, some might try a joint or two, and we might stay out a lot longer than our rents would like, but on average, we're nice enough. It angers me that the stereotype is such that no one is keen to sit next to you on a bus, for fear you'll swear at them or something. Its a bit upsetting, really, when you're a nice enough kid but people still look at you thinking you're some kind of murderer, or something. Once, me and some kids at "drama" (as i will call my youth theatre hereafter) put together a double header of george orwell plays for the public. It was absolutely spectacular, and we completely sold out, we all put our heart, soul, and valuble time (during exam period) into these plays, and one of the things we tried to do was show that younger people CAN do something other than go out and get arrested on friday nights. One woman wrote into the local paper to commend us on our acheievements and wrote something to the effect of "in a world where younger people are stereotyped as hoodies and hooligans, this showed some respite". So, this blog might chrnoicle my life as it is now. There might be some thuggish behaviour at times, spurred on by alcohol, a few parties, perhaps. But if anyone was to stumble on it once, and read it; I hope it at least shows that we're not all the hoodies and thugs that the dickheads at Westminster are determined to "erase"/"eradicate". we're HUMANS, alright? They say the youth of today are worse than our parents. I highly doubt it somehow.
Rant over.
Don't let the bastards get you down.
